Setting up a website from scratch

If you are new to setting up a website then there are a few costs to think about.

You will need to purchase a domain name, this is the name of your website, e.g. www.seoservicesplus.co.uk.

You then need to purchase hosting space, think of this as renting cyberspace to keep your website on.

Domain names are generally inexpensive with many costing less than £1 per month, I recommend NameCheap.

Hosting again is inexpensive with approximate prices ranging from £2 - £5 per month, I recommend Betterwebspace. 

If you wish to update your own website then I recommend purchasing XSitePro.

About me

My expertise lies in Search Engine Optimisation (SEO services) and attention to detail. I don't claim to be a web designer. However, I can put together a well-optimised basic website and help with writing good website copy.

I have 5 years experience of running my own e-commerce web business and currently work in Internet Marketing for a Travel Technology company in Peterborough. I live in Deeping St James, South Lincolnshire, just north of Peterborough.

I am also Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply qualified and proficient in using Sage Accounts packages.

I enjoy creating basic websites and search engine optimisation. My prices are very reasonable because I want to make it easier for small businesses to gain an online presence. With some of my customers I trade services rather than taking payment and I am happy to discuss this kind of remuneration with prospective customers.
